andrew.regan.2006@googlemail.com asked:

When it comes to cultural entertainment, London has few shortcomings – a fact that’s apparent in the city’s impressive calendar of theatre, music and dance performances, not to mention its spectacular host of concert halls and event venues – one of the most iconic and versatile of them being the Royal Albert Hall. Inspired by the success of Prince Albert’s Great Exhibition, the Royal Albert Hall was opened in 1871 – ten years after the Prince’s death. Being largely influenced by ancient amphitheatres and notions of the arts, the oval structure’s terracotta walls are decorated on the outside with a frieze dedicated to “The Triumph of Arts and Sciences”. Today, the stunning venue stands as a testimony to the architectural and aesthetic achievements of the past, as well as the technological developments of the present; it even features the largest pipe organ in the British Isles.

The Royal Albert Hall hosts a wide variety of entertainment events, including classical, rock, pop and jazz music, sporting events, galas, banquets and balls and the world-famous Proms series. It has a capacity of 8000, but is typically packed with crowds during the summer months when the Promenade concerts take over. Thus, visitors have to the option to queue up on the day of an event in order to get cheap, last-minute tickets for the seat-less “Gods” level (the highest level in the hall), or to book in advance for seats up front.

The Royal Albert Hall has a year-round line-up of traditional and contemporary theatre, music and dance events. Upcoming performances include: the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on 15 March, the Classical Spectacular 2007 from 22 March – 25 March and the Cathcart Spring Prom concert on 17 May. There’s even a Ballroom Dancing Championships event being held in autumn!

If you’re planning to attend an event at the Royal Albert Hall in London, make sure you book a hotel in South Kensington. That way, you’ll be close to the venue and you’ll still remain well connected to other top London attractions such as Hyde Park, Kensington Palace, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum. Moreover, South Kensington is located right next to Knightsbridge, which, being home to the exclusively famous Harrods and Harvey Nichols department stores is one of the prime shopping districts of London.

So, during your next visit to London, book a hotel in South Kensington and attend a performance at one of the most iconic and atmospheric music venues in the world: the Royal Albert Hall.

Andrew Regan is an online, freelance journalist.

Create a video blog

Derek Both asked:

Dance holidays are becoming more and more popular these days, regardless of age or gender. Dancing keeps you fit and is a lot of fun. Whether you are a total beginner or have been dancing for many years, there is a dance holiday for you.

A dance holiday is also a great way to meet like-minded people and make new friends. If you love to travel and you love to dance, combining the two could be a wonderful experience.

There are many styles of dancing. You have probably heard of tango, salsa and foxtrot, for example. Tango originated in South America in the nineteenth century and is known as being a passionate, exciting dance. Salsa is a dance based on music with two bars of four beats. You usually take three steps then skip a beat, as you shift your weight to the other foot, keeping in perfect time with the music.

The foxtrot involves a slow-slow-quick-quick step and is easy to learn. If you choose a dance holiday, you will be able to take part in dance courses, tailored to your level of expertise. Technique, style and choreography will be included and the course will be light-hearted and a lot of fun.

There are many exotic destinations catering to dance holidays now, as the trend really takes off. You can choose from European resorts, holidays throughout North and South America, the Caribbean and even cruises. Immersing yourself in a different culture while enjoying that culture through dance is a fantastic experience and everything is organized for you.

You choose how many classes you want to attend, what kind of accommodation and resort you prefer and the rest is arranged for you. Cuba could be a good choice if you fancy combining salsa and merengue classes with mojitos and exploring old Havana. Spain is world famous for salsa and flamenco and a fascinating country to visit. New York is an exciting and vibrant city and a great place to learn ballroom dancing, latin dancing or even try out line dancing, while enjoying the culture and meeting new people.

A salsa holiday in Tenerife will be guaranteed to recharge your batteries. With year round sunny weather and great nightlife, Tenerife is a great spot to indulge in dancing. If you just can’t make up your mind, a mini cruise or full cruise will enable you to visit a variety of interesting destinations whilst practicing your steps both on-board and at the resorts.

If you don’t fancy traditional ballroom or latin dancing, you can try something fun like belly dancing classes, modern jive or even Bollywood. There are also sequence dancing and line dancing holidays. Dance holidays are so popular now that if you can think of a type of dance, there is probably a dance holiday to cover it.

Even if you dance regularly at home, taking dance classes in a new and exotic setting is sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Caffeinated Content – Members-Only Content for WordPress

Douglas Scott asked:

Sao Tome and Principe is not located in the Caribbean islands. It is one of the least well known countries in the world. The island is placed on the equator, in the Atlantic Ocean, Guinea bay Central Africa.

It is one of the remaining few spots in the world not compromised by mass tourism. A tropical paradise with white palm fringed beaches, crystal clear water, unexplored jungle with endemic species and a friendly people who rarely sees any tourists.

If you decide to go the good news is that you will be one of at maximum 20 tourists arriving each week. The bad news is that there arent any pre arranged package tours.

This means that you have to do some research and reserve hotel room and flight tickets yourself and yes, it is expensive to get here. This is not a shoestring vacation but you will get the experience of a lifetime.

Culturally, the people are African but have been highly influenced by the Portuguese rulers of the islands.

Some people are known for their rhythms. Portuguese ballroom dancing may have played an integral part in the development of these rhythms and their associated dances.

Tchiloli is a musical dance performance that tells a dramatic story. The dance Congo is similarly a combination of music, dance and theatre.

Part of the Cameroon volcanic mountain line, which also includes the islands of Annobon to the southwest, Bioko to the northeast and Mount Cameroon on the African west coast. Sao Tome is 50 kilometres long and 32 kilometres wide and the more mountainous of the two islands. Its peaks reach 2,024 meters. Swift streams radiating down the mountains through lush forest and cropland to the sea cross both islands.

At sea level, the climate is tropical hot and humid with average yearly temperatures of about 27 and little daily variation. At the interiors higher altitudes, the average yearly temperature is 20, and nights are generally cool. Annual rainfall varies from 5 m on the south western slopes to 1 m in the northern lowlands. The rainy season runs from October to May.

The island of Sao Tome is 32 by 48 kilometres in size and the more mountainous of the two islands. The capital, also named Sao Tome, lies on this island.

Sao Tome and Principe is divided into 2 provinces. Principe, Sao Tome.

The provinces are further divided into seven districts, six on Sao Tome and one on Principe.

Create a video blog…instantly.

Christian Baligad asked:

Going on a cruise is both fun and exciting. It is the best getaway that probably money can buy. It could mean the travel of a lifetime enjoying both water and land activities.

If you are a newlywed couple, going on a cruise is possibly the best way of spending your honeymoon.

Most people think that “cruising” is an expensive activity. That you need thousands of dollars to get a ticket. Then again, there are great alternatives to reach the dream of going on cruises.

Your very first consideration is the cruise plan. You can save a lot if you will just plan wisely. By doing this, you can manage to explore more about the greatest deals and cruise trip discounts.

Vacation cruise planning can also give you an intelligent system to have a step-by-step cruise destination and the vacation of a lifetime.

Aside from that, another great thing to do is to look for the best cruise lines. The best cruise lines must be able to give you a low-cost fare and fees. Another thing is that cruise lines must have first-class customer service.

Speaking of cruise lines, there are many impressive ranges of cruise lines that exist for you to choose from. Each and every one of them promises to get you to many diverse destinations.

A great cruise is not just all about the destination at all. One of the best characteristics of cruise lines is to have a big assortment of cruise services. For example, the best cruise lines must have the capability to move from one port to another.

The most preferred places for cruise trips are Alaska, the Hawaiian Islands, Gulf of Mexico, The Panama Channel, and the Caribbean Sea. The best cruise must bring you to those destinations. Besides that, great cruises must have reasonable cruise prices.

The tagline is also very significant. But you must be cautious of them also. Some taglines are only intended to catch your attention.

The best cruise lines must be affordable but luxurious. They must try to give you a taste of an incredible experience without costing too much. Another important thing is cruise lines must give many amenities and services not found in other kinds of vacations.

Good customer services must also be given to customers. For example, services like spa treatments, evening recreation, dance classes, sporting activities, casinos, entertainment and plenty of other leisure activities to perform within the ship.

The best cruise lines must also be very particular with the food they serve. They must offer both new and conventional ways of eating. The means of dining must also be carefully observed. For example, if you need to eat, you can eat what you feel like, where you want to and when you want to.

In order to find the best cruise lines, the best thing to do is to do research well. By doing this, you can find the lowest cost possible. You can also find the best type of cruise lines that fits what you are looking for and how much you can afford.

You can do reliable exploring for the best cruise lines over the net. There are many websites that offer the best kinds of cruise lines. There are also many websites that offer ideas about how to choose the best type of cruise ships. The best ship must have a lot of things.

Having the right information is also great. For example, if the room is in the lower part of the ship, the rooms are normally economical. On the other hand, a suite is indeed the most luxurious selection of space.

Booking as early as doable can also be the best way for picking cruise lines. Most of the cruise lines offer excellent discounts and deals when booked as early as possible.

A word of advice, selecting the best cruise must also tell you the cruise destination ports. Most of the shipping lines will absolutely tell you the ports of destination.

Always take into account that the best cruise lines must have your interests in mind to give you the best service as possible at the lowest possible prices.

Cruise programs are also one of the factors in choosing which the best cruise lines are. Programs must be very entertaining and recreational. Programs like snorkeling, fishing, diving, onboard movie watching, discos, ballroom dancing and lots more are what you have to look out for.

To make your cruise more recreational and enjoyable, choosing the best cruise lines is certainly essential. Book your cruise as early as possible to seize this great opportunity.

Have fun,

Christian Baligad

Caffeinated Content

andrew.regan.2006@googlemail.com asked:

Kansieo.com
